Shock as Busia Man Marries Mother and Daughter

Residents of Busia County in Western Kenya have been left in shock after a man from the area married a woman and her daughter.

The man, Fidelis Okochi is a farmer and herbalist in Edaho village of Busia confessed that he is unaware of whom he loves more of the two; Jane Rosa Akinyi 64, or Linet Awino aged 22, her daughter.
He insists that if culture had not interfered, he would have paid dowry for the mother and her daughter and moved on with life.
Okochi, who is 20 years younger than Akinyi, claims he is not sure of how to get out of the marriage trap. Okochi met Linet in Nairobi in 2007 and later on and fell in love with her. He however later relocated to the village in 2008 leaving Linet behind. In the village, he and Jane who is Linet’s mum fell in love.

This came as a surprise to Linet because she was unaware that her ‘beau’ was her mother’s husband. Okochi claimed that he had married Linet’s widowed Akinyi and had lived with her for well over 8 years after he left the city.

On the other hand, he had resided with Linet for only 6 months after she came from the city. She however left a few weeks ago after the area chief and elders advised against the union of the two (Okochi and Linet).

Okochi even offered to pay dowry for Linet explaining that her mother is past menopause but the daughter can give birth.” Okochi is however lonely man after Akinyi ditched the marriage after learning that her husband was married to her daughter secretly. It is purported that Akinyi left Okochi’s homestead enraged and speaking a curse on her daughter for stealing her love.
