Game of Thrones to End at Season Eight

HBO has confirmed reports that Game of Thrones will be coming to an end at season 8.
Network executives confirmed that there will be only two more seasons of the hit show.

 Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, HBO’s new programming executive Casey Bloys said that if it were up to him, he would have had the cast do more.

However, “ we take their lead on what they think they can do [to make] the best version of the show,” he said. Fans of the show are not uncatered for because according to Bloys the creation of a spinoff had been discussed.

 The seventh season of Game of Thrones will begin filming in in the coming weeks. The truncated season – just seven episodes instead of ten – will not air until the middle of 2017.

Game of Thrones has been nominated for 23 Emmys in 2016.
The number of episodes in season eight is however unknown.
